Thadeu Vieira was born in Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He graduated college
as a Physical Education Teacher and attended 2 years of Law School before moving to the United States. Thadeu started to train
Jiu-Jitsu when he was 16 years old at the Pagels Jiu-Jitsu Team, in Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro. Thadeu has won
several regional tournaments in Rio de Janeiro State and was awarded Black Belt in 2001 by Master Paulo Wesley Lopes and recognized
as a Black Belt Professor by the Rio de Janeiro State Jiu-Jitsu Federation. In 2002 he opened his own school, Barra
Brava Team.
Thadeu lives in Sarasota with his wife, Jaime, and has two sons, Caio and Benjamin.
Lineage

Emmanuel "Manny" Alves was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He started training BJJ
under Professor Paulo Wesley Lopes since he was 12 years old and has been the champion of the Rio de Janeiro State Jiu-Jitsu
League (LERJJI) for many years. He also has been a junior instructor at affiliated schools in the Rio de Janeiro State
for several years. Manny has completed his instructorship course last year and is a certified instructor under the World Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu Association. He is the head instructor at our affiliated school in Pinellas Park, FL.
